For a split second I see a sparkle of beauty passing by. That instance of grace that I nearly missed and that will never happen again. -- Sarah Moon

I was photographing this lovely woman and her killer cute baby for an NFP for which my wife volunteered. All was going just fine -- then the baby looked up. Ok, I'm done.

Julius Eastman Strikes Again!
Performing Arts at REDCAT -- (CalArts downtown home for visual and performing arts.) is mounting a series of programs on Julius Eastman and his music -- including information on the LA Philharmonic's performance of his "Trumpet" in 1971 -- the score for which is the music over his face in this portrait. I believe this is the 12th (maybe 13th) time that my photographs from his concert at the Unitarian Church in Buffalo have been used to promote his work and his legacy. The original score for Trumpet was lost -- my photographs of 4 pages from it were the key that allowed an intrepid musicologist to reconstruct it from a recording.
This portrait, enlarged to about 24" high will be in the concert hall lobby
