the work of the weavers

I undertook this project as part of a proposed group exhibition at Larson Gallery in Yakima
that is scheduled to show in October 2010.  The Theme is "Technology: Connects and Disconnects".

I chose to examine a process, hand weaving, that was disconnected from its original purpose
-- a utilitarian trade -- by the industrial revolution but that is connected by its tools and materials
to its 16th century roots.
