scene through a glass

“Seen through a glass, darkly.” is a statement that our view of reality is always imperfect, incomplete,
perhaps even reversed — but the biblical quotation goes on to imply that our vision will eventually clear.
Is that intended literally or as metaphor? In either case I doubt it.

The “glass” through which you see these photographs is the camera’s lens, a window,
a looking-glass (mirror), and often all of the above..

Once in a great while — these photographs span well over 10 years — I see through a glass, darkly,
a scene both so enigmatic and so alluring that I cannot resist trying to photograph it.
